Eating Disorders Facts
According to the National Eating Disorders Association, 20 million women and 10 million men suffer from a clinically significant eating disorder. A top contributing factor is the dissatisfaction with body image leading to the development of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.

Anorexia Nervosa: As much as 1%-4.5% of the population suffer from Anorexia. Anorexia has the highest fatality rate of any mental illness. It is estimated that 4% of individuals die from complications of the disorder. About one-third of individuals with the disorder obtain treatment and give themselves a solid chance of successfully beating the illness.
Bulimia Nervosa: Nearly 4% of females in the United States will have bulimia during their lifetime. About 6% of individuals with bulimia seek treatment. Devastatingly, 3.9% of these individuals pass away from their illness.
Binge Eating Disorder: About 2.8% of American adults will struggle with binge eating during their lifetime. Nearly 43% of individuals suffering from binge eating obtain treatment.
